A Leadership Cohort Organization

An arts education and youth development organization founded in 1996 by three women - J. Villegas, L. Garcia, & J. Bullie - Kuumba Lynx (KL) has a mission of working to provide access to programs that preserve, promote and present urban arts & culture.

Empowerment: KL seeks to empower youth and their communities by employing Hip-Hop culture as both an art form and vehicle for inter-generational and cross-cultural dialogue.
Belief: KL believes in developing healthy hearts, minds, and bodies so that strong community foundations can thrive.

Creative Literacy: KL is dedicated to providing programs for creative expression and literacy for Chicago youth and their families so to increase social consciousness, community analysis and exchange, self-reflection, global action, inner peace, and universal freedom.
