Project GRAD Knoxville
A K16 (elementary through post-secondary) education nonprofit working to impact generational change through education: (1) college/career access and success (2) social services support (3) family/neighborhood/community engagement (4) intentional support for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
We do school-based services and support, including leadership clubs. We also have summer institute experiences on the campuses of our post-secondary partners (university, community college, technical school) that include writing and performance programming. Encouraging student voice is a priority. With the help of experienced artists, we also want to use spoken word to help students develop presentation of their personal story and use that presentation as the foundation for their personal statement required on post-secondary applications.
