About Youth Speaks’ School Visit Program
Each year, we offer classroom workshops and all-school assemblies to over 50 Bay Area Middle and High Schools interested in introducing their students to the power of spoken word and poetry. Youth Speaks has a 15-year track record of working with hundreds of thousands students in the Bay Area alone.
Our School Visit Program consists of two services:
- Spoken Word Assembly
- Creative Writing Workshop
Our hour-long assemblies are showcase-style and feature some of the most talented spoken word artists in the Bay Area, ranging in age from 16 to 25. All assemblies are appropriate for middle and high schools, and can be combined with one-hour, theme-based creative writing workshops facilitated by trained Youth Speaks poet-mentors.
