Youth Speaks first presented Queeriosity in 1999, the brainchild of two young members of the organization. As part of our ongoing campaign to celebrate young people in the Bay Area, and to give a space for those who are marginalized to speak, Queeriosity is a place for a diverse population of queer youth and their allies to come together and declare themselves present and unafraid.
In partnership with the Queer Arts Festival, Queeriosity is a spoken word and performing arts showcase, highlighting the voices of a diverse San Francisco Bay Area.
Friday, June 17 at the LGBT Center (1800 Market Street, San Francisco)
As we celebrate our 15th year, Youth Speaks Inc. is proud to present Queeriosity,a spoken word and performing arts showcase dedicated to young people who are reshaping the contours of our conversations about sexuality, identity, and community. We are anything but afraid—we are full of light, and running at the speed of life. We never asked to be tolerated – we call to be seen and experienced as we are: In agitation, transformation, Living in Motion.
