This event is free, but spots are LIMITED and a ticket is REQUIRED to secure your spot.
Day 2 of the festival will include the Opening Plenary, Town Halls, Youth and Adult Workshops, and Showcases, all curated for the BNV audience!
If you are coming as an individual or part of a school or community group, please be prepared to bring a bag lunch with you. Lunch will only be provided for registered Brave New Voices Festival attendees.
Throughout the day, BNV artists and alumni will discuss how their art has evolved throughout their careers, where poetry can live and breathe beyond the slam, and the function of poetry in our daily lives. Conversations and workshops feature BNV Alumni working at the intersection of arts, politics, and movement-building across the country.

Kick-off day three of the Brave New Voices Festival by cheering on the best youth poetry teams from around the country in our annual slam poetry competition.
The top 4 Teams will advance to the Brave New Voices Finals, where they will compete for the title of 2025 Brave New Voices Slam Champion.
In 1996, Youth Speaks started a movement that has since bloomed some of the most significant young artists of our time. Many of your favorite rappers, directors, Tony Award-winning actors, screenwriters, activists, organizers, and, of course, poets, got their start right here at the Brave New Voices Youth Poetry Slam.
All semifinals feature open seating on a first-come, first-served basis. This event is free, but spots are LIMITED and a ticket is REQUIRED to secure your spot. Audience members are encouraged to move into additional semi-bouts if spaces are at capacity.
The top 4 highest-scoring youth poetry slam teams in the world will compete to see who will take home the crown and the coveted title of Brave New Voices Poetry Slam Champion.
The Finals will also include guest performances and feature some of the most amazing artists in the Poetry universe, as we gather to celebrate the power of young voices. Do not miss this historic night of youth poetry coming to you live from Shanon Hall at the Wisconsin Union Theater.
