The 4th annual Youth Speaks Backyard Conference will be held at the Youth Speaks office (265 Shotwell St, San Francisco) June 9th-13th 10am-5pm, each day.
This 5 day summer camp is curated and facilitated by youth for youth! Join us alongside artists, organizers, and other youth from throughout the Bay, for a week of free workshops and performances dedicated to helping you level up as writers, performers, and organizers of your own revolutionary art spaces.
$150 stipends will be given to 15 participants who attend the most days during the Backyard Conference so pull up all 5 days!
Breakfast & lunch will be provided.
This summer camp is open to teens throughout the Bay aged 13-19. Spots are limited.
This year's themes are:
1. The Self - Self care, Self love vs Self loathing, and Self identity.
2. The Culture - Community Practices and Solidarity across race, ethnicity, gender and sexuality.
3. The Body - Body Image and Body Diversity in 2025.
4. The Social - Social Media and Activism: True Movements vs Performative Allyship.
5. The Word - Media Literacy and The Power of Narrative Storytelling.
